That's right. We have two MTs, but no NEs.

Las Vegas - Shadow Creek (I hear Steve Wynn's old house is for sale)

Just got back from Shadow Creek -- indeed it is for sale, and the price that I was quoted was $25 million. Better hurry before they get another offer!

"Green acres is the place to be,
Farrrrrm living is the life for me,
Land spreading out so far and wide,
Keep Manhattan just give me that countryside."

North Plains, OR (Pumpkin Ridge)
Santa Cruz, CA (Pasatiempo)
Holyoke, CO (Ballyneal)
Manakin-Sabot, VA (Kinloch)

Cabell Ackerly asked about Kinloch.  I love Kinloch for a number of reasons.  Superb conditioning.  Easy to walk, except from 9 green to 10 tee.  Beautiful and peaceful, the course's features also blend in quite seamlessly with the natural terrain.  The wide corridors that allow air flow for growing bent grass make it somewhat unique, as the extra width is used to create alternate fairways and playing angles on many holes.  Also, the big lake is used well to create a climactic finish.  It's challenging but not brutal.

Most of all, I like the people I've met there.  Both the staff and the members.  They take quiet pride in their beautiful new club.

North Plains, OR is gorgeous in the summertime, and Pumpkin Ridge's private course suits my wife exceptionally well.

My wife and I agree that we don't want the responsibility of a second home, but Santa Cruz, CA and Bandon, OR would be our top choices.

John,

This thinly veiled attemp to earn a Hillbilly Tour card is shameless, but duly noted.  BTW,  Gaylord Entertainment  announced today that Hee Haw DVD sales have surpassed one million.  A Hillbilly renasontz.

Bogey,

I'd be honored to be an Hillbilly Card tour holder, as long as you'll have me.  I'm afraid the only way I'll be accepted is with a special "mascot" exemption.  "Yeah, we let John in.  He's our tree hugging Oregonian."

Spring: No place better than seaside Deal and Royal Cinque Ports.

Summer: Holyoke, Colo., for the big sky, big steaks and Ballyneal.

Fall: I have to be in Columbus for football season, so I'd be in heaven at The Golf Club.

Winter: I could be happy in Pacific Palisades and Riviera.

We'll make it an all Doctor affair...

Late Spring to Fall: Crystal Downs
Fall/Winter/Early Spring: Alternate weeks between CPC and the Valley Club.

I'd be ok with that :)

Call it California tunnel vision, the spots I favor are not far from current home-and-haven.
They include:

San Francisco Golf Club
San Francisco, CA.... (for a weekend home in the city)

Lahontan & Coyote Moon
Truckee, CA.... (a frequent summer haunt )

The Valley Club
Montecito, CA.... (a charming locale anytime of year)

Cypress Pt. & MPCC
Pebble Beach, CA....(destined to be there)

It's kind of foggy in the city.  What about a castle in Atherton instead?  Only a 35-40 minute drive to the club from there.

I don't know if anyone has reviewed Lahontan here.  I heard it was very nice.
