"Negril, Jamaica"

Good Evening:

I have a quick question for all of you.  My girlfriend and myself are going to Jamaica the beginning of June.  We are staying at Swept Away Negril.  Have any of you every stayed at this Couples Resort?  This resort has their own golf course.  Have any of you played it?  What is the course like?

I haven't played the "Couples" course.  I think it must be on the flat side if it's close to the resort.

I did play the local "Negril Hills" course which is routed on heaving, spectacular terrain, fine views out to sea and the occasional good hole (1st,6th,9th,13th) .  But it's cramped and has some crazy holes too (18th is one of the worst I've played).  One of the toughest shortish courses I've played with an invariable strong breeze and lots of "gunk" to swallow up your ball.  But it was memorable at least and you may enjoy it-it will test your game.

The mandatory caddies are rubbish (hilariously so).  See the following funny review (scroll down):

Have not played in Negril but have played the White Witch in Montego Bay.  Very nice.  Book through the Ritz I think.

I read that info about the golf/caddies on trip advisor last week.  That is why I was asking everybody about the golf.  I was wondering if I should bring my clubs or not.
