I am aware that this subject has been debated before in one way or another.

I still think that it would be very useful to gather some kind of collective knowledge about the must have books about golf course architecture.

So please, fire away.

Which five books should everyone with even a slight interest of golf course architecture have in their personal library?

The Architectural Side of Golf~Wethered & Simpson
Golf Architecture in America~Captain George C. Thomas
Some Essays On Golf Architecture~Harry Shapland Colt
The Links~Robert Hunter
Golf Architecture/The Spirit of St. Andrews~Dr. Alister MacKenzie (Essentially the same book with the SOSA being the more candid and architecturally interesting of the two)

Of modern day titles I would add Anatomy of a Golf Course by Doak, most of Geoff Shackelford's books, and Paul Daley's works. Between Tommy's picks and these you have a fantastic foundation.
