I like the show, including the ace(!) at Torrey Pines by the local pro, but when it comes down to it there's not much golf course in each show -

more little side pieces of interest to non-golfers.

Anyone who can get Lahinch and Ballybunion into a 30 minute program is a quick wanderer!

Don:

I totally agree, they compacted Wild Horse into the last five minutes of a 30 minute show.  While the five minutes were compelling, it should have been 25 of 30 minutes.

Seeing the course in live action video, however, peaks my interest in visiting WH even more.

I wish I had that channel on our cable.  Oh well, I'll have to go see it myself in a week or two.  I was thinking of taking my video mini-micro camera this time.  I'm not sure how to download video clip ass pics however... ;) ;D

I'm surprised one of you geeks haven't had a link in a post to a home video of some favorite course rather than still digital pics.

I am having difficulty imagining what they occupy 20-25 minutes of a 30 minute broadcast with, concerning lifestyles on the prairie.  Don't get me wrong, it seems the living is fine out there.  Very laid back and down home regular folk.  But, it isn't exactly glamorous for TV.  Heck, most folk even cook their own meals everynight out there... ;D

RJ:

One word, "throwlf."

I enjoy the show as is.  It is about people far more than golf courses.  My favorite episode is when he plays some young girls on a course in Northern Ireland.  They make fun of his overagressiveness out of the rough and come up with the following song:

"Very feminine Chad,
His golf is very bad,
He acts like a girl and he makes us hurl,
Very Feminine Chad"

My daughter and I giggled an entire evening over that one.  Unfortunately, she figured out she could substitute "Dad" for "Chad."

Jason 'Toppy' Topp,
He could never hit a flop,
When short side of a green,
He'd skull it quite lean,
And from unplayable, he'd take his drop.
 :P ;D ;)

I'm still trying to work out the meaning of "throwlf" :-\

I will repost my comments from February:

I guess I got my hopes up.  5 minutes of saying WH is a special place and zero minutes of explaining why it was a special place besides the local involvement.

I enjoyed the piece on Mr. Hogan's program in Miller Park, but the throwing thing?  And the only reason they went to Dannebrog was to put on overalls and show cows.

I still enjoy the show, but it makes me wonder the quality of the episodes of places where I have not been.

Kingsbarn was my favorite episode so far, seemed like they spent more time than usual on the golf course.
