This allows me to ask a question I have thinking about all week. Should they choose to, where else could they lengthen Augusta National?
From the aerial, the only open land left for tee extensions appears to be hole 16, unless they decided to put 10 tee on the other side of butler cabin or buy the lot by 5 tee.
If they were willing to consider green locations, does the topography easily allow 5 and 13 to be moved back?
In the same vein, if they had built No 4 tees at a different angle rather than just extending it, they could lengthen three at the green end. Or, for real surgery, they could reroute 8 through the old driving range, thus moving two and three, which would allow lengthing of both of those holes, at the expense of some trees. However, from what I saw yesterday (on HDTV, to cross post a thread) length means nothing at three anyway. However, I have to believe the only reason it hasn't been a candidate for more length is that there just isn't room as is for a new back tee.
