The Joe Sixpacks of the world know what courses they like just as well as we do.

We may not agree with what they like, but whatever.  Plus, if they are simply 'Joe Sixpacks', do you think they would take extra time to rate the courses they have played??

I dont feel it is right to label golfer's because they drink beer or whatever when they play.  Is there anything wrong with that anyways??

Also, I noticed Paa Ko is on the list so me thinks Black Mesa may have been rated.  I will try and find out what it got...

It's as I thought - Black Mesa received no rating.  I'm only guessing but that must be because not enough people submitted forms for it.  You'd have to think they have some sort of minimum for an overall star rating to be given.

Interesting though a walking rating is given... they must suspend the minimum for that, include it just for informational purposes... And it gets 4.  PG Muni had 2.  That's pretty tough to reconcile.

Tom

Black Mesa, whether a good or bad course, really is in the middle of nowhere.

Last year I was right in that middle of nowhere, but without my clubs

 :'(

Lets hope next time we can see Tobacco Road and Black Mesa as 5-stars!!  It is cool Paa Ko got it!

Well, in terms of middle of nowhere, Santa Fe, NM is pretty darn nice, and a quite popular tourist site regardless of golf.

I have a feeling Black Mesa will get its just due next year.  It still is somewhat new.

And it is a GREAT course at a GREAT price... beautiful, with great pace of play... I can't say much for the "service" as it is pretty low key... but for me it is just screaming out for five stars... we'll see how it goes.

Last Year Tobacco Road got 4-1/2 stars.

Maybe the people know what they are doing after all...?

Jordan, you seem to be a very literal person.

Let me give a perfect example...I think Bandon Trails is a better course than Bandon Dunes.  Bandon Dunes will forever be loved by the public more...All that makes me is a pompous ass, not more clever, not smarter...just an ass.  I'm starting to get sick of my own voice telling my friends how great Bandon Trails is when I know they will like Bandon Dunes more...I'm done with it..

I prefer Pacific Dunes to Bandon Dunes; I haven't played Bandon Trails yet--I will in June and am very much looking forward to it.  I'll say this about Bandon Dunes--I've never regretted playing a round there and I've never walked off the course dissatisfied.  It's a pretty darned good course.  And, while it may suffer some when analyzed hole-by-hole, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and, most importantly, it's fun to play.  So, that's my defense of Bandon Dunes, which seemingly is getting attacked a lot these days.
