Does Augusta National Golf Club reflect a golf course architect's greatest use of changes in elevation?

Mike,

It's a pretty startling experience seeing it in person versus on TV.

The elevation changes are surprising.

That's why I disagree with Mike Cirba.
I think the routing and hole designs are extraordinary given the topography.

Mike,

I don't think you could get 18 better holes routed on that site period and that is the mark of design.  The fact that that routing has stood up to all of the changes, whether you like them or not, is a great testament to its genius.  I not so sure you use elevation in design as much as you accept it, deal with it, and thoughtfully incorporate its impact into the playability of a layout.

Cheers!

JT

Look Pat we actually agree on something. :D
