we take you now to the Cypress Point Regional, where a HUGE upset is in the making...

with time dwindling down on the clock, #14 seed -- lightly-regarded Dick Nugent -- is up by one on many people's pre-tournament favorite -- #3 seed George Crump.  Crump had a seemingly insurmountable lead in this contest, but Nugent has scratched and clawed his way back into this game and taken the lead because Crump has only suited up one player. ;)

Shivas,

I thought Crump U was famous for its team play? :) Both Dick and Tim Nugent sure have the size advantage on him though.  Tim Nugent used to play BBall at Southern Illinois. He often started gameas against Indiana State, where his job was to try to hack Larry Bird into submission.........Several others usually followed.

BTW, in Jordan's deal, I am screwed by pairings in the second round. I would be in too much awe to compete......

In case the news hasn't yet reached Dallas...

You won the Northern Minnesota Regional, in a cakewalk. Or maybe cakeride!

Jordan,

I would watch how you have CB Mac going through there. And Old Tom Morris is a stretch too.

I admit,  missed a few guys, (I apologize Dana!) but hey for one subway train ride home, it's not bad.  I also have Mackenzie "winning" my bracket.  He beats Pete Dye in extra holes.

Here's the page for the bracket:

What a great website that is.  I gotta tellya, when march madness hits people get batty.  You think we're dweebs doing this for golf course architects?  There's no end to the crazy things people are bracketing.

You like Bettis and the KFC?  Yeah I've been falling asleep watching my steelers 2006 DVD lately...that Colts game never gets old.

This is crap.  The regional pairings eliminate stronger individuals in some regions while allowing weaker "players " to advance because of weaknesses.

It's not like a game where techinically any team can beat another, these are fixed bodies of works with complete subjectivity.

A couple of posted opinions show personal biases.  C& C beating Flynn??

 'nuff said

Suggestion: One should fill this out and e-mail their results to a close, honest friend for some brutally honest feedback about the filler-outer's biases.

It would likely be very revealing.

no, bill its just good clean fun.  There's no bragging rights, no trophy, no article in a magazine and the votes can be done at the bracketmaker site.

If someone wants to pick CC over flynn, let them...its a free country.  These aren't chumps.  Thes eare intelligent, thoughtful people who can make solid convincing arguments.

Harry Colt is definitely the Gonzaga of your bracket, Jay. A 3 seed??? Swinley Forest, Sunningdale New, Toronto, Portrush, Haagsche.....what does a guy have to do!?

Please direct all comment regarding seedings and bids to the tournament selection executive committee chair, my buddy's Labrador, Willy.

Willy used the most painstaking research method known to Mankind, hunch. It may look like it was done with duct tape, spit and popsicle sticks, but thats what the NCAA's brackets look like too!

Charles Banks and Dev Emmet have to be a little down after the bubble burst. They should be considered heavy favorites in the NIT.

Just like the big boys all that media east coast bias crap!!  Thats why the big 10 is gone and little old Washington State has a couple of hangers on left in the round ball tournie!! Go Zags, go left coast Huskies

Let the games begin and let's see who comes out on top!

Go Zags and Go Huskies.  Consider the tournament won by one of those teams.  BTW great and fun thread Jay!![/color]

lets do this...we can vote here, by email to me or on the bracket site or even at my website.  Lets close the first round by 7 PM thurs night.  Then I'll post the round of 32 and well vote till sat night at 7.

By the way...right now some upsets are brewing.

One thing...I have to fix it, but when one person tried to enter their picks on the website it accidentily made them the results, not their picks...so ignore what you see on there.  I'll have to find the "reset" button and adjust it, but the first round matchups are there.

Here is the link to print it out:

Personally, I'd like to see an NIT bracket for this as well.

Nothing like the possibility for a Xen Hassenplug or Ed Beidel showdown with a Jim Harrison or Ed Ault. All in the "Fred Garbin" bracket.

I think Dev Emmet or Park, Jr. would win that one though as they could easily be top five seeds in the first.

"Let's just say I had a "MacWood/Morrison" final."

Kyle, its just like Villanova/Georgetown.  Except this time David ain't gonna beat Goliath  ;D  MacWood would have to shoot 100% to send it into overtime  ;)

Jordan,

How much C & C and how much Flynn have you seen?  This is not a rigorous test.  Fun yes, but hey it forces me to agree with BillV.  Thanks a lot guys  :)
