The plight of RTJ courses right now is probably an indication of what happens during the cycles of lack of real popularity of various architects. Clearly some decades ago all the Golden Age architects were at a low point in popularity and were massively redesigned.
I hope the same doesn't happen to RTJ. The London Hunt Club I mentioned may be a good example. They recently removed all the redesigning they did to it since the 60s and are putting it back as much the way it was as possible and they're proud of it.
Obviously it's in the periods of the down-cycles of popularity these clubs need to be careful. If not it may be history repeating itself.
