working with the land, practice areas
« on: March 12, 2006, 11:28:28 PM »
I may appear to be up late with a bottle of fine whisky to be twisted enough to think of this. However, I am stone cold sober. I have always felt the most natural looking practice or driving range was a slightly downhill 400 to 500 hundred yard open area with nice backdrops. There are not any traps but greens that work into the land at the appropriate distances. I like the practice putting green at Bandon for giving this feel in the putting and chipping areas. Does anyone else have feelings about ideal practice areas.
