How do you post larger images?
« on: March 14, 2006, 12:38:22 PM »
I am currently having the images I post being hosted on Mystic Color Labs. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I could go to be able to post larger images?

Pay for photobucket's upgrade.

Also link to the photo, not the thumbnail.

FYI, one does not need to pay for Photobucket's upgrade to be able post 'large enough' photos, although I do pay, but for different reasons.

In terms of the pics that Evan has posted, he has not been posting the thumbnails.  That's just Mystic's standard (small) size that you can't do anything about.  That was the main reason I was outta there (from Mystic) in a hurry as soon as I was told about Photobucket, which beats Mystic in just about every way.

Agreed on your first point, Scott, but you only have so much room if you dont.  Then you sacrifice earlier photos for newer ones.

I should have explained that better.

Evan,

Firstly, I assume that you are informed as to the size of your images.  In other words, you have tried posting something with a resolution larger than what appears in your threads???

That may seem a no brainer but you never can tell.

Thus, if you are uploading something say 1600 x 1200 and it is only displaying as 640 x 480, it is most likely due to the particular image hosting website you have chosen to utilize.  (Photobucket?)

Many of us circumvent this problem by obtaining server space.  That way what you upload to your server is displayed at the same dimensions that you uploaded it.

I'd say double check what imagebucket is doing to your images via their upload/transfer/display process.

Hope that helps.
