Golf Digest has an article called "Ask Mr. Style | With Marty Hackel".   I think you should take his place.

I'm sure I was wearing black pants for those who want to know.  I also like the look of the collar inside the vest, this keeps me snuggly warm, almost like being in the womb.

I rarely pick up a copy of Golf Digest but when I do Ask Mr. Style is the second thing I read after Johnny Miller. I tend toward the cluelessly monochromatic look myself so I need all the help I can get (without going for the Darren Clarke "fat guy in plaid pants" look).

If you have time walk the course backwards and plot from the greens to the landing area.
One hole in the middle of the back nine deserves a close look. It is a medium length 4 par with the approach across a marked hazard. after dumping balls in the hazard and taking the drop and playing I found the ball and it was really as it was a dry hazard.
Should be firm and fast so any layups could bounce through into trouble.

Hope the Really Hot waitress is still there.

David,
See if any of the cabins are still available.

I'm definitely going to look into the cabins. Have heard there's not much loding close.

Thanks everyone, for the great advice. I'm definitely going to try for a practice round before the tournament, but don't know if it will be possible.

From what I've gathered from your posts here, it's not an uberly difficult or contrived course off the tee (like Coyote Hills or The Badlands in Vegas), but that it's fairly straightforward, with potentially difficult greens and a good possibility for wind.

The tall grass thing probably won't be an issue for me, as I'm pretty straight off the tee, though on the short side.

I'm really looking forward to the tournament.

David,

I'm also playing in this tournament and am hoping to make it out for a practice round as well.  Send me a PM if you're going to make it out there and want to play.

Will definitely do that. Might actually make it up there for the practice round the second weekend of March, probably that Saturday the 10th(?)

You available?
