It would also be worth checking out "Vault Radio" at

www.wolfgangsvault.com

If you click on Vault Radio there. You will here streaming audio of live concert tracks recorded at the Fillmore, Winterland, etc. circa 1995-75. Amazing stuff for all my fellow aging baby-boomers to hear: the Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Cream, Hendrix, Springsteen, Aretha, Jeff Beck, Miles Davis, et. al.

David, that was a most excellent tip on Vault Radio! Sunday Morning on CBS just did a terrific piece on Wolfgangs vault...amazing, amazing stuff!

"Wolfgang" is the given name of famous rock promoter Bill Graham.  Several years after he died, his collection of rock posters, tickets, t-shirts, and audio and video from his Fillmore and Winterland shows was purchased and cataloged. It turns out he had thousands of shows taped...thousands of original art posters, and millions of original tickets...The video and audio of these unbelievable performances is the true gold mine here.

Check it out!    www.wolfgangsvault.com

Craig -

While you are at it, check out www.youtube.com

It is a video file sharing site. Enter the name of any performer you are interested in seeing and any available video clips of their performances will come up for viewing.

I entered Paul Butterfield and accessed a clip of him performing with Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan & B.B. King. That is something you don't come across every day!

Yeah, youtube is cool.  Right now I'm thinking about using some sort of "line in" set up to directly put the music on vault radio into my mp3 player....it would sure make a morning on a mower go by quicker!

Craig -

Be sure to hear King Curtis (playing soprano sax) do Procul Harem's "Whiter Shade of Pale" on Vault Radio. That could be the best track on the whole loop!

I heard it yesterday...outragious!!  Springsteen opening for Blood Sweat and Tears in 71 (?) doing Spirits in the Night is pretty good too...can you imagine having to follow an at the time unknown Springsteen...he was probably doing his best live shows back then....Stevie Wonder at Winterland...damn!

Speaking of King Curtis...its on right now.
