OK boys here's your shot 73 nameless bunkers.  If you need a visual look see, try the my home course profile.  I can't wait to see what Silis names some of these things.

Cheers!

That's amazing. I was going to say call #s 1 & 2
The Buffaloe, and then went onto your MHC writeup to
see that not only is the hole called "Home on the Range"
but you specifically refer to the bunkers as "buffalo shaped"

#1 and #2 also look like manatees.

I'm trying to figure out which bunkers should be called the Angels.

John

Perhaps 16,17,18,19 and 20 could be called 'Angels Crossing'.  They appear to be crossing the #4 fairway.

whereas 13, 14 and 15 have more of a beelzebub character.

Jim,
Your going about this all the wrong way....

ForkaB

At least one should be called the "Emperor's Omphalos."  Whether it is an innie or an outie, well, better men than I can volunteer to verify......

Jim,

I thought #22 already had a name

Tommy,

Please do share your approach...

Pete,

It most certainly does and so do the rest of them.  I thought it would be a fun exercise to see what the rest of the tree house would name them.  I also thought that if I gave the list of names first, it would ruin the fun of the creative process.

Cheers!

Jim,
Best I've come up with is that collectively 16-20 (#4) should be known as the pits of dispair (which if I think right I am partially stealing from the classic "The Princess Bride" movie).

DMoriarty

70-72 . . . Buffalo Chips.

Andy Troeger

David,
I was thinking about using that one too, although for different bunkers! :)

DMoriarty

Andy, as you probably guessed I chose those because of their location behind and below the buffalo.

#45, on one of my favorite holes, 11:  Cyclops, cause from an aerial view it looks like an eye to me and (forgot to add this the first time) it is a bit of a monster to get out of!

199 played, only Augusta National left to play!

Andy Troeger

That's true...I had thought of that name but had not come up with the location. I was trying to figure out why to name one of the actual buffalo bunkers that. You beat me to it with a more logical response.

How about Gabriel's Gate for #46?

Nate Golomb

As Hole #3 is titled "All in the Family"...

Bunker 9 - The Father
"       " 10 - The Mother...as it is the most difficult to handle and the one golfers most commonly get in trouble with...often times having a meeting with "The Father" next...
11 & 12 - The Children (ie - Son & Daughter)

67 - The Magician...or perhaps "Illusion" as it deceptively sits in the bank and also requires a magical shot to get it close.

Jim

I just read the invite without looking at any responses.  #s 1&2 certainly look like buffaloes.

#3, spanner or bent wrench.

Ciao

Jim: What's the latest on the new nine and the range? Looking forward to seeing you in the Spring when the weather breaks and the season starts! I have a bottle of 2000 Russell Creek Cab that has your "name" written all over it!

Nate,

You are actually pretty close on #3.  The hole was named "All in the Family" because #9 & #10 udes to be one bunker all at the deeper of the two depths and during shaping Bob came around the corner and said;"My goodness that's not a bunker, that's Archie's bunker!"  As a result, we called them #9 Edith, #10 Archie, #11 Meathead and #12 Gloria ever since.

Cheers!

JT

Good ideas guys!  Keep 'em coming.

Jim,
I propose the bunker you missed numbering on #16 (Good Test, by the way! ;)) be named Patrick McGoohan.

"I am not a number, I am a free bunker!"

The White River runs dark through the heart of the Town,
Washed the people coal-black from the hole in the ground.

Nate Golomb

Ooooh I'll add one, #74, the one I've been looking forward to seeing dug! Left of #18 green..."The Savior"
