I just wanted to say how much I appreciated all the calls, emails, IM's and finally the messages left on this thread.

Probably the biggest suprise is the number of architects that I have spoken to who have been very supportive of the move.
and have offered there assistance.

To say the least, I didn't expect this reaction. I assumed that most wouldn't really care about a guy who expands tees and cuts trees, so thanks again.

I hope to see some of you this year.

Again thanks for the kind messages.

Yes, northeastern Minnesota is MUCH closer to Canada!   ;D

Congrats, Ian.  Canada (and beyond) will surely benefit.

Scott,

You should know that any self respecting Texas would consider NE MN a far north Dallas suburb.....and Toronto a far north east Dallas burb.......just as Mexico City is a far south Houston suburb.

Of course.  When you left Chicago for Dallas years ago, it was just cross-town move, y'all.

Yeah, and I had to change the baseball team I root for - from the north side Cubs to the South Side White Sox........still root for Da Bears though, despite having a semblance of a pro team in this part of town who I actually built a golf course for!

Paul,

Depending on how this goes, they may be the only two drinks I can afford.  ;D Cindy's staying home this time, she holding out for Scotland.

Jeff,

Come to Toronto (north-east Dallas) - and take back your goalie......

Good luck, Ian!

Sounds like we gaining one more minimalist....its becoming a landslide I tell you, a landslide!!  Soon all new courses will be fast and firm and the years of 1960-1995 will be looked upon as the Dark Ages of GCA! ;)
