« on: January 01, 2006, 11:33:05 AM »
I want to be the first to send in my contribution to GCA for 2006.

My check for $72 is being written as I write this ;D

Ran: Keep up the great work :)

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

"coffer replenishment" deserves a bump...too much pleasure to be had here to not help defray costs....

Scott Wood,

Why shouldn't contributions exceed par at your home course ?

I would think that people should give what they feel comfortable with, especially on this site where par is sometimes looked at as immaterial. ;D

Pat, your idea re "exceeding par""has merit, like so many of your ideas ( right Tom P?)......
but, all I did was copy/paste the words located in GCA section "Contibutions"  ;)

I believe I recollect from a long past thread, that the limitation was initiated by Ran....

btw, the limitation DOES have a certain logic, as I know I try to never exceed par  ;D
Cheers

If a player insists on playing his maximum power on his tee-shot, it is not the architect's intention to allow him an overly wide target to hit to but rather should be allowed this privilege of maximum power except under conditions of exceptional skill.
