No...Fishers Island is better than Sand Hills and Doak has two courses in the top ten like you have a shot of getting a golf scholorship at Stanford..but I have been wrong before..

Jordan,

I might suggest that you at least play Bandon Dunes before you judge David Kidd's work against others.

For Bandon Dunes beauty, balance, honesty, and subtle demands on your golfing skills will grow on you, if you have the wisdom and sensitivity to allow that.

Best wishes,

You are fortunate to have done that.

You most certainly do not have to mount some defense about your statement.

I only suggest being open to the world, and not pre-judging another's work.

Something I remind myself of daily.

David Kidd was first…David, the son of the greenkeeper Jimmy Kidd, was a confident 31 year old that actually did a great job.  He has consistently worked to improve his accomplishment (Bandon Dunes) and is lucky enough to work largely outside of the public eye.  I had the pleasure of playing my first round at Bandon with David, he put his soul into that course…Pacific and Trail would not be there today had Bandon not been the overwhelming success that it was..

Merry Chistmas to all :)

Alright, Amen to that, and I sure did not mean to knock david kidd.  I can truly agree that Pcific and Trails would not be there without bandon and Kidd.  Just wondering, what other courses has he done?

check the website young chap

http://www.dmkgolfdesign.com/portfolio/portfolio.html

I hear he has done some work in South Africa too

I think he has designed the par three course at Bandon, which I for one, am very excited about.  WHen I was there in Nov. it was not open for public play yet
What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--
