And Adam, interesting, I would use this as an example for my point from that other lengthy thread... Sure, the views alone don't make it great, but it would be very difficult to say the views don't count in an assessment of the golf course.   When Tom Doak says "there are many beautiful holes" he sure as hell isn't talking about "architecture."   Which of course was my point all along over there, as much as people continually missed it and stretched it and butchered it so.

I never really thought the view were all that interesting from Sandpiper or most SoCal courses (Torrey Pines included).

With Pebble, CPC, MPCC and Pacific Grove, you are at or near the watery edge, a jagged coastline, crashing waves ...

At Sandpiper and Torrey, you are elevated and your view is primarily of ... water, the horizon and smoggy haze ...
