Yes, that's correct. Obviously slope is a large part of the problem of erosion and damage. You'll notice Shelly did not mention any problems on "Hell's Half Acre" of #7 or even the enormous sand waste bunker area on #16 obviously because those areas are basically flat for starters. The way the huge waste bunker was constructed on #16 it's unlikely sand would've blown onto the fairway and in HHA that ground initially was really undulated in a flat area and had a good deal of vegetation in it too. But the truth is it doesn't matter whether someone likes that open sand waste area and feels it should be maintained precisely how it was originally (particularly on slopes) because Nature is going to do what it does regardless.
