I thought the time was 7:00pm, but what works for you.

I know you need to head out early. I can meet you earlier.

The plan was 7 pm meet for dinner and drinks. But Mr. Ian Andrew, consumate host and resident poet, along with this lowly scribe, could be down closer to 6 if need be.

OK, we are all set for this Friday, Dec. 2 at Murphy's Law (1702 Queen St. East -- at the corner of Kingston Rd).
The plan is to start meeting after 6 pm, but more likely closer to 7.
That said, it looks like we will have a big group. I need to call the bar in the hope they might let us take one of the upstairs floors to ourselves, but I need an accurate count of who expects to be there. Can you email me at robertthompson8@yahoo.com or PM me at GCA so I can call the pub on Monday or Tuesday? I'm thinking the number will be between 15 and 20 guys.
Looking forward to it!

I have made arrangements at Murphy's Law for friday. We have space arranged downstairs in the Stone Pub. You go in the front doors and down the stairs.

I'll be there from about 6:00pm on. I need to be there to secure the space for the evening. I would suggest you come early, so I have someone to drink with ;D ....also to avoid Mingay passing out in the coats before telling tales about the LPGA. ;D

We have a few interesting people coming.

Yannick and Jeremy from Graham Cooke's office
Canada's foremost writer in Lorne Rubenstein
John Gall, Superintendent from Canada's best course  ;) St. George's
Jeff Mingay, writer, shaper, drinker and architect
Rob Thompson, Canada's worst golf writer
Dick Kirkpatrick, architect and builder responsible for building 100's of courses.
our well travelled spokesman Gerry Bedard

...quite a few lurkers from GCA who asked to come

and the rest of the regulars from the last group (except Mr Dewar  :'( our world traveller)

Ian,

I can't believe this is proceeding considering Mr. Cowan-Dewar's absence! He's the guy everyone wants to see, isn't he  ;D

I forgot to ask, too: is Cam T. going to be there?

I just think it is cool that Mr. Rubenstein is coming -- honestly! In 2004 when Mike Weir threw up on himself at the Canadian Open, I had the chance to walk most of the last round with Lorne. It was interesting to hear him talk and see him get hassled by people in the crowd. I'm sure he'll make Friday's gathering that much more interesting.
Of course, after a few beers when Ian gets going on pond
construction....

I will be there, probably by 6 to keep Ian company.

I noticed in Golf Canada that Stanley Thompson is being inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame on March 26-06

Dave: I'm bringing my copy of Season In Dornoch, which I would really like to have signed. Now as long as Ian doesn't regurgitate on it during the cab ride back to the 'hood....

I have Season in Dornoch and a few others.  Do you think Lorne will mind if I bring my copy along to be signed as well?

I also have a copy of a book called The Nashwaak Review which I picked up Highlands Links this summer.  It has a couple of articles by Ken Donovan. One is about Thompson the other is on the course with some old pictures.  Anybody interested in seeing it?

Dick,

Doug and I were both asked to speak, but we will both be in Pinehurst on that date. Too bad. I was hoping they might move the date, because I would have loved that opportunity. His is a life worth celebrating.

I will make sure I'm there at 6:00pm.

I think someone should bring a putter !
