   No love for the Chicago District?  Tho I certainly haven't played all of these, and am not certain as to where they line up in terms of position, I think we could put forward a pretty strong lineup of places to play (listed alphabetically and not in terms of strength):

Barrington Hills, Beverly, Black Sheep, Bull Valley, Butler National, Butterfield, Cantigny, Canyata, Chicago Golf, Cog Hill #4,Conway Farms, Edgewood Valley, Evanston, Exmoor, Flossmoor, Glen Oak, Glen View, Kemper Lakes, Knollwood, LaGrange, Medinah, Merit Club, Midlothian, North Shore, Northmoor, Oak Park, Olympia Fields, Old Elm, Onwentsia, Pine Meadow, Rich Harvest, Shoreacres, Skokie.  We can even steal a few from other states (Dunes, Lost Dunes, Long Beach CC and Point O Woods are all in the Chicago District).

How's that for 10 minutes and overall depth?  Mostly private with a few public access thrown in.  I think we at least get into the discussion.

Rich - a good post, but a bit unfair. Scotland isn't a state but a sub-national jurisdiction with nationalist aspirations. I'm nitpicking, I know

This will show that I no longer follow the NFL much, but most of the "QBs" mentioned remind me of Roger Staubach more than Terry Bradshaw; and that's a good thing in my books.

Which course is most Joe Montana, ie. doesn't do any one thing great, but put it all together and you have a winner (and maybe the best QB of all time)?

Where is Piping Rock? I would even put Atlantic or The Bridge before Hudson National, and Friars Head(despite my feelings).

I have never played Oak Hill, however I have seen plenty of pictures, watched the golf course on TV, and think I have a pretty good sense of the course.

With that said, if I were picking my team Quouge Field Club, Westhampton CC, and Southampton just may find my list. Rockaway Hunt would definitly be worthy of a tryout, by nepotism ofcourse.

I hear ya, i wasn't knocking the list just making a few points.

I don't want to make my list because I know people will freak out, and say no way about some of my picks.

The list expected will turn out like most of the 'big time' High School's on Long Island. The big kid with a beard in 11th grade who can hit it 400 ft. once in awhile, will make it over the crafty athlete who knows how to play the game, day in and day out.
