I'm not suggesting the need for a 'different' site, and I'm not trying to 'tell Ran how to run his site'.
I'm looking at what is and has been going on here all along and suggesting a way it might be organized.
There are a number of things that bring me to do so.
• The page turnover is sometimes quite quick and interesting threads are soon buried.
• There are a lot of OT topics which speed this turnover.
• There are a lot of people who have commented on the fact that there are too many OT posts and expressed some level of frustration with it.
• Many of these OT posts are actually quite interesting, golf-related issues - beyond that, when shared among THIS forum, there is often a high level of thoughtful input.
• GCA.com is a unique group and one that many of us only have access to through this website. We'd love to get to some of the GCA get-togethers and speak face-to-face, and maybe we will - but for the odd, golf-related topic, it's nice to just be able to post it.
Now, none of these things are points that I have just come up with on my own, but rather are ideas that I have seen or heard expressed by a number of different people in a wide variety of ways during the time I have been posting/lurking here.
Given the fact that I spend so much of my life span here, one should be able to guess that I enjoy this website and am thankful for the effort Ran has put into it - and to everyone who contributes.
This is not an attack.
And, as with all the other posts - you can take it or leave it. And if people don't want a change, then quit bitching about the way things are - OT and all.
