Looks like Thracian Cliffs in Bulgaria.  Gary Player design.

If this proves to be true, it'll be truly remarkable -- the greatest "where is this" answer of all time!
1. Gary Player!
2. Bulgaria!
3. Thracian Cliffs!
How rare indeed is that trifecta on these hallowed pages!
(Especially since I would've said it's RTJ, in the Bahamas)

Just saw Kalen's post. So, it is the GOAT!

For the record I haven't played there, but was close to booking a trip that this was the going to be the highlight as I recall seeing the white rock cliffs. It just popped into my mind as hey that's Thracian Cliffs.  I think it is, but it was that or I was thinking someplace in Portugal or along the Med.

The oceanfront holes at Thracian Cliffs are very photogenic but the inland holes look no better (at least on Google Earth) than any other Player work.

If the game is “anyone know where this is?”, how about the following:

Sorry for the blank where the photo should have been.  It was fine in preview mode.

That would be the Black Sea, which is pretty large, but not an ocean.

This is one of the courses I really want to see before I finish the last volume of the Confidential Guide.  It looks spectacular, but also pretty narrow and difficult.

Thracian Cliffs is a lovely piece of land. I walked it before it was golf as a potential project and identified it as the best of 40 odd sites I looked at.  I tried to buy it but it had just been bought by a Bulgarian TV owner. My routing had 8 holes under 300 yards, but I retained far more of the quirky stuff that got ploughed away in the GP design. It probably has five or six holes we would all have, but as mentioned the holes higher up 'the land slip' are quite resorty. It is still overall a very nice course but I think it might have been better at 6200 yards rather than forced into what it is. Sadly the economy has not recovered since 2008 and the three golf courses close to there don't get lots of play. It just needs more flights into Varna which despite the airport being improved has never happened. Bulgarian hospitality is good and inexpensive. Another negative though is the season is short as it is very cold from say November to March.

Adrian, Nov-Mar is very cold...so is much of North America, which is why hockey and drinking are favorite pastimes in many locales!  ;D

The golf season for Britts and Scandies going abroad is mainly October to April. So Spain, Turkey and Portugal are faves. Bulgaria can't capture the winter trade.

Although I don't believe this would have anything to do with golf course architecture, I believe that Spartacus was a Thracian.  Not that anyone cares.

My Bulgarian friends care--it's a point of pride Spartacus was from Trakia.
