National w/ Member?

Can you play National Golf Links without a member?  I am running up to Long Island in a couple of weeks and was hoping to play National.  I have pretty good contacts, but I don't want to have to drag someone up the Island just to escort me for a round.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jeff.  I know my contacts would know but I didn't want to call and ask them and then have them feel like they need to take time off work.  I apologize for asking the questions I just figured someone on here would know.  I am playing with some people at other places and just wanted to get out and see National without hindering other people.  Thanks again.

Fair question.  I am sure their are a few posters on here that know the guest play policies of every course in the top 100.

No no.  I am not seeking any subliminal connection.  I know some people that could make it happen with a phone call I just don't want to hassle them with having to "entertian" me with the golf and then lunch etc. etc.  I just wanted to find out the easiest route.  Thanks to all for answers on and off the board.

I believe unaccompanied guests can't play until October, but, that might have changed.
