Flipping Sides at St. Andrews

Has the R&A ever put a hole location on the opposite side of the green from where they typically are?

i.e. The 2nd hole being located with 16 is and 16 being where 2 usually is (not necessarily thinking that would be the best, but isn't that the original concept behind "Hole o' cross")?

I thought of this after seeing how far right the flag on 11 was, and how close it was to seven's hole location. Though I wouldn't switch those flags in a million years.

No. The only partial exception is that I recall occasionally seeing the shared 5th/13th green set up so that it appars the line of play might cross - except on that green the putting surface is so deep there's no chance for overlap because the pins are still 30 yards apart. But otherwise, no.
