Keith Durrant: RTJ's involvement in that Brazilian course is likely a case of revisionist history. He might have drawn the plans, but I am pretty sure that he never went to Brazil in that period, because he told me so himself.
He said Thompson wanted him to go supervise a couple of courses in Brazil, because things were very slow in North America, but he decided not to go. He had just gotten married, and he said he was concerned that the way Thompson spent the design checks, he would get down there and they wouldn't ever have enough money to get him back home.
Mr. Jones was in his 80's at the time and he always liked to tell a good story, but I'd be inclined to believe that one.
