Maintenace Meld and Champion Bermuda

Watched a few minutes of the PGA tour event from Memphis.  The architecture remains pedestrian, but the course conditions have changed dramatically with the installation of champion bermuda greens and bermuda approach aprons (zoysia fairways looked spotted - right up this crowd's alley).

Leonard in particular seemed to "get it," playing bounding long-irons short of the green to front pin placements and even playing left of the green on the par three fourteenth.

The best set-up I've seen on tour in years and a great testimonial for the inherent firm and fast characteristics of champion bermuda.

That was a great looking "maintenance meld". I watched just a bit on TV but the coloring was sensational. I hope the viewing audience takes that in and slows down on this emerald green idea for all golf courses. Did you here Feherty's remarks about the look and playability of the course? He said all the right things in my book---like this is the way golf is supposed to be played.
