B. Trails vs Spyglass Hill
« on: May 19, 2005, 01:51:26 AM »
After reading more about the new course, I am hung up on something someone said about BT reminding them of Spyglass.  Then I got to thinking about how different #1, 2 and 18 seem to be from the rest of the course.

The meat of the course, so to speak, at Spyglass is in the trees.  Seems BT looks similar, although I do not wish to discount the meadow/transition holes.

I just thought maybe someone else might like to comment on similarities.....and differences.

I by no means wish to compare Spyglass to BT, because they are obviously different styles, but do the routings have similarities.

It is weird, in a way BD does seem Pebblesque, PD to CP and BT to SPY.

What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

Michael,
I can make the PD/CP connection, but can't even come close to putting BD and Pebble together. And though I haven't seen BT yet (soon though), I really doubt I will come up with a Spyglass connection.
I know I will have fun on all 3 courses at Bandon. 8)
