Matt, I was not trying to imply a wide differential between Black Mesa and Pacific Dunes.  There isn't one.  Maybe it all boils down to marketing as in almost everything else in Americal these days.
I love that high desert feel so much that I am actually trying to put together a trip to Santa Fe as we speak.  The great Mexican food there is an added incentive!

I've never heard anyone say anything less than great about Pac Dunes, other than speculating about its difficulty for top players.

I know one thing - if I said one quarter as much about The Rawls Course as Matt posts about BM, I'd never hear the end of the bias accusations.... :)

George:

Stop the whining -- it's beneath you.

I get to sample a far greater number of courses and frankly I see myself as being in a far better position to cross compare different courses than many on GCA.

If you think Black Mesa is deficient to Pac Dunes please outline all the details. I'm all ears.

P.S. I also liked The Rawls Course but it's a step or two behin the likes AS, BM and PD IMHO.

This says it all, I can't add anything better.

George:

The facts are the facts. I have no hestitation in putting up the number of courses I personally see. I never said my opinion was anything more than just my opinion. But my opinion comes from playing the top tier candidates wherever they may be in the USA. I don't doubt there are others who play a fair share nationally, but there's also a good number here on GCA who have not.

George, I love the backhanded slap with your ignorant statement of .. "This says it all, I can't add anything better."

You can add something "better" -- how bout doing the mental chore of trying to analyze the courses in question instead of the "it's beneath me" with your dismissive blow-off.

I've asked people a few times to break down for me the differences between Black Mesa and the other public courses in question. Only Bill McBride took on the challenge.

By the way George -- how does a course like The Rawls -- entirely created by man's hand -- stack up against a natural design like Black Mesa? Please fire away with your analysis -- I'm certainly interested in your comments. ;)
