Any Value to "The Scottish Invasion" Book?
« on: April 19, 2005, 11:26:24 PM »
I picked up "The Scottish Invasion" by Tufts (of Pinehurst) a 1962 volume related to the National Amateur at Pinehurst that year (or the next, not sure)

I have never seen this before, and for $3.98 at Half Price Books, couldn't resist picking it up, but wonder if it is fairly rare.  Anyone know anything about this volume?

Thanks in advance

If this was a first edition, they sell for about $70 to $80 usually.

If you question was is it a good book, I think it is.  I just got a copy and enjoyed reading it for the history.

Jeff,
It was essentially a history of golf for the participants in the golf tournament. Are you sure its not a reprint? (although I don't know of any being done) I can't imagine where Half Price Books would have found copies. Was this online or in a store? A great buy at that price no matter what.
