"I had forgotten to mention, that as in past events,
All checks are non-refundable in the event of cancellation."

Pat:

In that case it should mean some seriously good "whiskey money" for both you and particularly me----correct?   ;)

Frankly, I don't see why the checks need to go to Jennifer---I think they should go to you or better yet to me. You know I'm always reliable to bring them with me at the start of the event but if they go to Jennifer and the event gets cancelled it'll just force me to bug Jennifer for the total return of them to me.

Pat M.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you regarding this event, but suffice to say that I will not be able to attend due to my commitments during construction.

Pat; Thanks again for all your hard work.  Is anyone planning on staying in Atlantic City the night before?  Perhaps we can arrange to share a ride out to Hidden Creek.  Let me know if you are interested.  I am arriving in Philadelphia at about 7:30 and being driven to Atlantic City thereafter.

My check for the symposium and golf was mailed this morning.  Thanks again, Pat.  I look forward to seeing you.  Why don't you come to Philadelphia for a day or two afterwards?

Shel,

Where are you staying in AC the night before.  As of right now I am planning on staying there as well, so most likely I could give you at least give you a ride there.

Also, I wanted to see how many people would be interested in a casual dinner sunday night?

Suggestions on where to  stay in Atlantic City would be appreciated.

Is there sort of an unoffical hotel and/or dinner gathering the night before?

If so, where and what time. I am looking forward to meeting my brothern GCA posters. :)
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Cary,

If you are going to stay at  a Casino and can get a decent rate the Borgata is the best place to stay.  Its head and shoulders nicer than any of the other casinos.  I am staying there sunday night.

If you don't want to stay at a Casino the Sheraton Atlantic City is probably the place.  But for a sunday night the rates will probably cheaper at the casinos.  The cheaper rates will probably be the Tropicana, but see what you can do at the Borgata.

I would like to help organize an informal dinner the night before, so if we can start to get a headcount of those interested that would be great.

You guys that are staying overnight should consider the villas at the Seaview Marriott.  They are very nice 2-bedroom suites and pretty reasonably priced.  Some pretty good golf too!  They are not well located to the casinos (20 minutes), especially driving back half or fully lit.  But they are convenient to ACCC and Hidden Creek.

I just booked into the Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City for $79 for Sunday night.

If anyone is interested, I can try and get us into Chef Vola's in Atlantic City for dinner.  It is a very special restaurant where the husband is the chef, the wife bakes and the kids serve.  It is very small and seats a total of perhaps 50 people and it is in the basement of a house about two blocks from the Tropicana and walking distance from most of the hotels including the Sands.  The food is absolutely wonderful and you can only get in if you are referred by someone they know.  Fortunately I've been going there for years and they will accept my reservation.  They do not have a liquor license but you can bring your own wine and they will serve it and there is no charge for doing so.  It is cash only -- no credit cards but it is very reasonably priced and you can usually get out of there for under $50 including tax and tip -- BTW it is Italian cuisine.

If anyone is interested and I can get an in idea of how many there will be, I can try and call them but I am not certain of how many they have room for.

Jerry,

I think Chef Vola is a fantastic idea.

Anyone who has never been there needs to try it.  Everything Jerry says about how hard it is to get in are true.

Chef Vola would be a great idea.

They are closed on Mondays so I will call tomorrow but I need to get an idea on the number as they frown upon last minute cancellations.

Those wanting a CADDY should indicate same with a note accompanying their check.

Hidden Creek has caddies, but, if the turnout is such that more caddies are needed, perhaps they can recruit some from nearby clubs.

If you request a CADDY you will be responsible for the base
$ 45  caddy fee.

Pat,

I already sent my check for $195 to Ms. Hansen before the latest instructions.  Am I OK with not filling out a form?  What if I wanted to carry my own bag, is that OK?  If not, I'd like to get a caddie.  Shall I call Ms. Hansen and try to arrange?  Sorry for all the questions.

I'm not planning on staying for dinner at this time.  How soon do you need to know the number of guests for dinner?

Regards,
Wayne
