Look at this:  two young newlyweds shot in their hotel room in Antigua:

This is terrible.  remember also about a year and a half ago when the best caddie at rose hall was murdered in cold blood in jamaica?  When I went down there a year ago, two people in our tour came within a hairs breath of getting  mugged with the old "Wanna see where marley wrote" some album.  Nobody ventured away from the resort.  it was like being in a mink lined prison...maybe not mink-lined, but you get the idea.

We ought to make a list of places that are downright unsafe to take vacations.  Starting right now with antigua.  Has Jamaica gotten any safer?  or are the "stonecutter gang" still killing people?

Bowen was the 10th person slain so far this year in Antigua.  Whoop de doo...I just drove from Midway Airport to the interstate and bet that many people get killed in that neighborhood alone.

ten dead tourists is ten dead tourists too many.

yes, I know one murder is one murder too many, but the point is...ON VACATION?!

Two people got killed yesterday in Knoxville while at church.  My sister was killed returning a library book in a town of 4000 people way back in 1972.  Two good reasons not to go to church or the library.

I didn't see anything in the article that indicated there were 10 tourists murdered, only persons.

This is going to be a tough one to convince me on because statistically some of the most dangerous things you can do, in no particular order, are:

Driving your car
Eating fast food
Smoking
Being Sedentary
Etc

I'm guessing people getting killed while on vacation is more in line with the "getting struck by lightening" category.

Don't tell me that.  I'm flying into Midway on Tuesday next week!

Head towards Butler and you will be fine...Beverly, not so much.  I went straight east to I-94 and then south on my way home when it got scary, it was fine driving in from the north.  I shouldn't have trusted my GPS because it doesn't have a crime avoidance mode.

Hiya Mose :)

I tihnk you have a good idea there.  People need to know where to be careful.  I had a similar experience in jamaica...it was sketchy to even think about leaving the resort.

How were the netherlands and belgium?
