Wee Burn (Emmet) in Ct

I like this challenging course in Darien because of:

nice routing with changes in elevation

some good par fives, especially the twisting sixth

good green complexes with nice chocolate drops

any thoughts...

I grew up in Darien and played WB a few times (as well as caddying there once for a week).  The first hole is (or was, haven't been there for 35-40 years!) a non-entity, but after that it is very good golf.  Lots of variety and good use of the natural features (hills, streams, etc.).  Great place for sledding in the winter and evening liaisons in the summer.........

Mark - What did you think of the green on the bunkerless par 5 5th? Its a biarritz green basically, and the bunker complex is terrific.

Also, what were your thoughts on the challenges in the drive area on 2?

Sean , its been 8 years but I rememeber #5 as a testing par 4
with a great elevated green complex with either a berm or a
steep drop off.

I vaguely remember #2 as a very neat 360 yds with some good angles Is there some cross bunkering or a dogleg ?

thanks

That was the club my dad said we would have joined, if anyone else in my family had the golf bug.  Unfortunately, with the waiting list, by the time we got in I would have been in college ...

This is a course I've heard of (for what reason I know not) but I remain ignorant of its merits on this side of the Atlantic.  I should be very grateful if you could further enlighten me.
