Award winning golf course architects, Mr. Dana Fry and Mr. Jason Straka are proud to announce the formation of their new golf course design partnership, Fry / Straka Global Golf Course Design. After working together for nearly 20 years the pair is excited to bring their design experience, talent and renowned client dedication to their new venture.
While the pair will collaborate on all projects, Dana will reside in Hong Kong, China and Jason will remain in the United States in order to have worldwide reach and better service their global clients. Further, the new company will have associates based in Lisbon, Portugal, Milan, Italy, Beijing, China and Porto Alegre, Brazil.
While the partners are accepting clients under the new company banner they will continue to serve their existing clients under Hurdzan / Fry Environmental Golf Course Design along with Dr. Michael Hurdzan. To that point, Dana and Jason would like to acknowledge and thank their former partner and mentor, Dr. Michael J. Hurdzan, for many years of leadership, friendship and support.
During their tenure with Hurdzan / Fry, Dana and Jason’s professional accolades included countless award winning golf courses such as the co-design of Erin Hills GC with Mike Hurdzan and Ron Whitten, which will host the 2017 USGA Open Championship and has hosted the 2011 USGA Amateur Championship. In addition to their design achievements, each has accumulated many personal and professional awards and both hold numerous leadership positions in the golf industry. Jason will continue to serve the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) on its Board of Governors as well as teach numerous professional courses worldwide in environmental golf course design. Dana will continue to be active in Asian golf leadership to further develop the sport of golf in non-traditional golf markets.
