OK, gotcha re serving the golf world.

I'm just also unsure if that's the best way to judge greatness of a golf course.  BUT... I have always felt that these extremely private golf courses like CPC, Pine Valley, etc. don't really matter that much in the scheme of things given how few people ever get to play them, so I am swayed by this type of thinking.

My problem is now having played a bunch like that, I see how great they are.   ;D

David- Are you saying the greatest defenses at Pebble has little to do with the architecture?

Only to the extent that the conditions at Pebble have little to do with its design.
