Pevero
« on: February 24, 2005, 10:26:47 PM »
I have one of those small desktop calendars, from Sports Illustrated, the kind that has a page for each day of the year. A week or two ago, there was a page describing a course in Sardinia, Italy, owned by "the Aga Khan...this course is a playground of the rich and the royal. The spectacular scenery offered by this Mediterranean golf wonderland can only be compared with that of Pebble Beach and Cypress Point in the western United States."
Anybody ever hear of, or play, this course??

I played it back in 1986.  Costa Smeralda on Sardinia is a pretty interesting place.   I was there because we were routing 36 holes for the Aga Khan.   Project didn't work out.
Pevero was pretty ordinary imho.    One hole will always stand out in my mind.   A dogleg right with a blind tee shot over a ridge.   I hit what I was told was the perfect drive on the perfect line.   Unfortunately, the ball was apparently out of bounds and never found.   I don't think I have ever had that happen before.
