The Best possible finish on a Ross Course
« on: February 08, 2005, 12:33:38 AM »
Actually, the best possible finish on any course.  Trying to get your attention with this subject title.  Very recently, my great friend Shooter pulled off a real shooter. He finished off his round at Fort Myers CC with a 2--more commonly known as the rarest of rare scores--double eagle!

Shooter? He's a man. A man with many hats. And a great gps system in his car, or so I'm told.

Congrats!

Tommy - what do you think of those bunker shapes?

Thanks for the kind words.
And I thought this was going to be a thread about the back nine at Barton Hills!
It had to be the technology, not me..

The best Ross finish I ever saw was immediately apparent at the Penobscot Valley CC in Old Town, Maine.

15 - 468 Tee shot down into the valley and around the corner, approach back up

16 - 210 back across the valley

17 - 330 drivable faux-cape, much risk and reward

18 - 425 straight up the hill to the clubhouse, good contours

What a finish !

Man, I loved your work in Happy Gilmore!!  Did you do that 6-shooter thing with your finger after holing the shot? ;D

I once had a good finish on Michael's good Ross Maine finish, playing the final four holes in birdie-par-par-birdie to shoot 72.

I'd say that qualifies as a best possible finish on a best possible finish! :D
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....
