For those of us that need to work for a living - I'd pick Highlands Links in Nova Scotia.  Great value, great course, great Cape Breton Island culture, especially if you stay over on the N side of the island along the Cabot Trail.

Dan,

I am with you, except that I don't think I could hack 36 hole days for a week on Highland Links.

I would choose another Canadian course - Jasper Park.  Sporty, beautiful, wonderfully designed, ever changing weather, and I have a chance to score!  ;)

Of all the courses I have played, I would have to say Pasatiempo would be the one I would have the most fun day in and day out.  I would also get a great workout each day.  Lunch on the veranda and dinner at Shadowbrook.  Of the courses I haven't played, probably have to go over the pond and play Royal County Down or TOC.  Royal Melbourne also looks incredible for something like this.
