suggestions to play near Venice Florida?

think I'm going to my brother-in-laws place in Venice in mid-February: does anyone have any suggestions for places to play near there..anywhere from approx. Naples north to World Woods is fine by me...I've been to WW twice so I'll probably pass on it this time...thanks!

I highly recommend Venetian Golf&River Club. I played there last year and was very impressed. See Ron Whitten's review for details:

In nearby Sarasota, a good public is Legacy at Lakewood Ranch. If you have private access, Sara Bay, a Donald Ross course is worth a play.

I haven't played Venetian, though I have heard/read good things.
But I'd like to second the Sara Bay nomination.  If you can get access, it is good.
An under-rated course in the area is the River Club, in Bradenton (not far from Legacy).  Is invariably over-wet, but it has a number of cool holes, unusual for that area. If it was ever to become firm, it could be a very good course and one nobody ever talks about.

Seeing this is my winter stomping grounds, I would suggest Bonita Bay or Calusa Pines.  Gator Creek or Old Memorial would be the play a bit farther north.....

I would get you a game at my place, but I am gone in Feb.........
