Erin Hills-Any News About The Course?
« on: December 06, 2004, 12:34:05 PM »
Just want to know if anyone has seen Erin Hills lately, in Wisconsin?  There hasn't been much news about this course in the golf industry lately.  I am just wondering how the project is going.  Hey, maybe we can express our opinion about this layout, if we get a copy of it.  HAHAHAHA..

Supposed to be an unbelievable piece of land. Can anyone post any photo's?
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Other than the article in the Milwaukee paper that was posted here before and referenced below, I haven't seen anything. The Hurdzan website hasn't been updated in a while to include this project.

As I mentioned on another thread about Erin Hills, Rod Whitman was there for a bit in the fall rough shaping greens. Without any bias, I can say, that's certainly is a bonus.

I live close to Erin Hills and got a glimpse of it  last week.  From my limited tour (dusk & below zero WC) i saw vegetation removed from green sites and 4" PVC stakes where tees and greens are located.

It is an incredible site with alot of elevation change and i can see why reports of  minimal amounts of dirt needing to be moved   could be accurate. I took a few photos ..but nothing worth posting. If there is any interest i can document progress starting in spring.

With this group, there would be interest even in your frozen field construction photos! ;D
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Muni,
I remember reading something about this course several years ago. Wasn't it stalled due to a perception that the area really didn't need another golf course, or something to that effect?
