I cant take the teasing Ran. What is the finest course in Georgia?

Its obviously not Augusta National. Is this Ohoopee Match Club?

Gil Hanse held his "Cavemen Cup" at Ohoopee Match Club this past weekend so reports are starting to trickle out from those that participated.   Everything that I've heard is extremely positive.

I played it in late May. It was ready and excellent. It's routing is superb, criss-crossing the property and compass, yielding several interior "whiskey" loops. It's green complexes are fascinating and fun and it's bunkering both strategic and aesthetically pleasing.

Unquestionably Gil's best original work in the Norther Hemisphere. Interesting private club concept as well.

There should be a thread that just has all of the homepage pics posted in order.

Finest course in Georgia is a pretty bold claim. That would put it above East Lake, Ocean Forest, Augusta National and Peachtree. Bobby Jones is probably rolling over in his grave!

It is far from me to question the judgement of our fearless leader who knows golf architecture far better than me, so the place must be amazing. Congratulations to Gil Hanse for once again turning out what looks like a beauty.

I would point out a subtle but important distinction. Finest course is different than the course most golfers want to play and is different than finest hole or stretch of holes. I would be surprised if individual holes topped 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 at Augusta or if they top the best three stretch hole in golf at Amen Corner.

Ran has his own distinctive definition of finest. Augusta National did not even make the 147 Custodians list.
