Could have picked any of the 18 but this was my favorite even though I missed a 10 footer for 3.

This isn't the best picture but it is a neat par 4 at Rich Harvest (I think #2 -- started on #6 the day I played)

#5---Anstruther

Your basic 220 yard, blind, dog leg, downhill par three right along a rocky coast. Bright sun and 30 mph wind.

Just for you...

I do not find this an interesting green.

Perhaps given the size of the green and my rather too frequent mishit approaches, I'd be tempted to chip from one end to the other.  I'd feel awful about taking up a divot sized chunk of that grass too.

What, other than colossal size, makes this a "favorite hole"?

#16 at Carnoustie, making a lucky 45 footer from the back of the green for birdie.  :)

#14 at The Island, playing it driver-lob wedge (in a fit of sheer insanity) for par, then meeting an auld feller out walking his dog and having a nice chat over the next few holes.

Joe,

I'm sure you'll find lovers and haters of the biarritz on many threads on this sight.

http://www.golfclubatlas.com/forums2/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=8384;start=0

The pic is from behind the the far left of the green with the tee located off film in the upper right hand corner and was Gary Nelson's favorite of the year.  If you need to chip feel free, we just ask that you repair the damage as best you can.  I think after playing five holes at our place you'd already have honed in your long putting skills  :)  I often putt with my hi-bred "rescue club", it works pretty well on the 150 footers. That's also why courses have 18 holes, I figure if you do it right, course design, one hole should really bother or evoke emotion out of every player and if you do it great that hole varies for each player who visits your course.  We have had people say each of our holes was their favorite and each has also been their least favorite; making for debates only slightly more entertaining than this sight each day in the pro-shop.  I can't wait till a group of you guys actually show up, educated debate would be fascinating. ;D

Different strokes...

What a year!

Postage Stamp, Royal Troon
Bogey from the coffin bunker

16th, Cypress Point
4-wood to six feet

4th, Bethpage Black
Driver, 4-wood, 2-putt --> Birdie!

Redan, 15th, North Berwick
8-iron with a draw to 18 feet, 2-putt --> Par like you're supposed to play it

18th, St. Andrews (Old)
Bladed 6-iron through the green, thrashed a sand wedge from the rough to 8-feet and was accused of being a "regular Jack Nicklaus, he is!"
