The International Society of Golf Architects
«

I was browsing Tom Simpson's consulting report to The Honourable Company in 1933 when I came across the following paragraph:
"By the rules of the International Society of Golf Architects we are not allowed to accept or give commission of any kind in respect of materials we advise or in the matter of our contractors."
I've never heard of this body before, which predates the ASGCA. Does anyone know who were the member architects, or what became of the group after the Depression?

Tom,
I have some material somewhere that documents conversations between Stanley Thompson and Dr. MacKenzie, in Toronto, re: the formation of an International Society of Golf Architects.
I always presumed the Society was never formed though.

In 1933 Tom Simpson was Hon. Secretary of the International Society of Golf Architects. I remember seeing MacKenzie's name associated with organization somewhere...but I don't recall where...it may have been
The Spirit of St. Andrews.

I thought I'd seen it in The Spirit of St. Andrews as well...but haven't seen any other references.
