I was pretty sure it should be addressed to you but maybe I'm not that aware of your overall position since I do plead guilty to not reading every post on this thread--or even that many of them. Sorry about that.
I feel that almost any golfer would have an absolute ball playing any course of the firmness and speed "THROUGH THE GREEN" on Shinnecock at most of the US Open week. When I walked across the fairway of hole #5 and closely inspected the turf it looked quite similar to most golf courses' greens stimping at about 8!
But when it comes to the SPEED of the greens at Shinnecock during US Open week double of course not. And when it comes to the firmness of the greens on the weekend of US Open week triple of course not.
