Agreed. But......on a personal level however, that kind of "negative" mindframe would lead to more frequent mental lapses, ultimately resulting in more provisional balls & searching = longer round. Golf is not a game for the mentally feeble, but I persist  .

Scott, take the damn sticker off the driver.  Why in the world would you want to be reminded of what you paid for that

Yeah, $275 is way too much for one club.  $160 was the
previous highest amount I'd ever paid for a club, my previous
driver, a 975D bought in 2001, and I never took the sticker
off that one either.  Never notice it while playing.

I guess my maroon hat does match one thing, the
 (stock) shaft on the driver.
