Hey Jimmy.....is that a 'wish list' or are you actually going to go and play them???

What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

For me, it's hard to believe I have only one planned trip for this year so far.  2 kids will do that to you.  Have a few things in mind, but nothing is concrete.

If the topic really was a "wish list", then a thread called "Your 'Next Fifty' List" would be interesting.  I've made my own personal "Next 50" list, anyone else?

Regardless, my only plan for this year (have to be excited, it's the only one certain) is for Chicago in mid-September (work conference), but I don't know where I'll be playing or anything.

Mdugger,

I'm thrilled to say that I'm actually scheduled to play all of these!  I'll be at Bandon Dunes in late April, down in Cabo in June, and will be going to Ireland in August.  I can't wait, I'll make sure to post my thoughts on them when I return.

Cypress Point, Crystal Downs, Friar's Head.  Shivas, I'll make sure you have plenty of local knowledge before the qualifier.

2002 was awfully good to me in terms of courses I got to play.  For 2003 I hope the trend continues.  My five for this year are in no particular order:

1.  Indian Creek-will do
2.  Seminole-hope to
3.  Somerset Hills-will do
4.  NGLA- hope to
5.  Sunningdale Old-will do

allow me to be greedy and add Friar's Head

2. Sage Valley
3. Pete Dye Golf Club
4. Hamilton Farms
5. Salem

Wish List

Only 23 days until Pinehurst!!!  Hope it's above freezing.  Therefore, the courses I am looking forward to playing for the first time most are:

Pinehurst #2
Pine Needles
Tobacco Road

I also hope to get to French Lick Springs and Arcadia Bluffs, and we'll see about a summer trip - I'd love to go back to Banff and Jasper (or, maybe go to, dare I say, Bandon)

Also second what Shivas said about Briarwood - tremendous.

I'm so excited about one particular course I'll probably be able to play again this spring. I've already begun to organize my entree, sending letters of introduction, my golfing resume etc. I'm confident I'll be able to get on but it might be tricky. To me it's one of the real hidden gems of the world, one of the most gratifying golfing experiences of my life and also the place my poor wife hit the only draw in her golfing career (consisting of less than five rounds). I'm so excited about my impending golfing experience for 2003 because I feel I'll be able to play again the course I love more than any other--the great and glorious Fernandina Beach Municipal!!!

In my region: Taconic and Crumpin Fox.  Early April I'll be in Wales for: Pennard, Pyle and Kenfig, and Royal Porthcawl; maybe Southerndown as well.  Remarkably, I am presently booked to play St Andrews Old  Course on a Wednesday, the New Course, Thursday, and the Reverse Old Course, on Friday. Astonishing good fortune for a blue collar seaside links guy. Hey Whitey, Montrose looks like a very good choice to me too.
