Trump International Tree Removal Program
« on: September 09, 2004, 03:04:21 PM »
Just saw the Donald on Fox News and he mentioned that Frances took down a bunch of trees at his pride and joy in West Palm.  Good news?  Bad news?

The Donald was the only owner that had time to primp for the cameras.  The majority of Florida greens-committees and owners simply lost the vote to Mother Nature and are probably spending their time cleaning up after Frances or prepping (if that's even possible) for Ivan.

Don't take this the wrong way, but commenting about golf architecture on courses in Florida is not really appropriate at this time.  Just hope that everyone down there survives well enough to have the chance to play whatever their local courses again soon.

Depends who you ask, I suppose. I am sure Trump is upset. The inmates however, must appreciate the enhanced views - I'm speaking, of course, of the residents of the adjacent penitentiary and not of those who have the displeasure of rounding out The Donald's foursome.

Good thing Donald wasn't out in that hurricance: His comb over would never be the same ;D
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

...far be it from me to break up a lighthearted discussion - but...

PDrake,

Nothing relating to these hurricanes is good news.  Tree removal by conscious decision is preferrable as compared to by natural disaster.

Brian Gracely,

Thank you for putting things into perspective...  I understand that Ivan has killed 23 to date - and hasn't yet ventured anywhere near a populated area...  Wherever it hits land it will be devastating for many.

Give everyone a break with the high and mighty act guys.  The comment was in jest.......as it always is when a Trump property is mentioned on GCA!  Everyone knows hurricanes are bad news....I have family who go to Vero, so I know first hand the damage that can be had.  Lighten up.......save the scowls and indignation for the looters and price gougers in your state.

PDrake,

Not a high and mighty act - as far as I can tell you aren't in FL and you don't know me to make that judgement.

Many were affected, including me...  I get the jest, and was neither scowling nor indignant in intent...

Best Regards,

Steve
