To me, the most fun of this list is just reading the names of some of these golf clubs.  How neat would it be to belong to a club called Gog Magog (it really DOES exist!), Frilford Heath or Effingham?  Those are some logoed shirts I would really like to wear!

Gleneagles aswell.

One wouldn't want to criticise such a Herculean effort, but Hankley Common gets the same score as Flackwell Heath and Filton.

David- Thank you for posting this list- it is certainly informative and is a very interesting resource.

My only comment on the latest installment is that I would have given Ganton an A as opposed to an A-. I think it belongs in the elite class of golf in England. The bunkering there is just splendid.

I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the list!

Tom & Marc -

As clearly noted, the courses listed so far are in England only. I will get to Scotland, Wales and Ireland later in the week.

Marc -

How do Hankley Common, Flackwell Heath and Filton compare in your book?

David, Hankley Common is in the current UK top 100 list. It's in a wonderful location with some of the finest heather in Britain.  It has two or three really good holes, but there is some ordinary stuff as well.  To me it would be B with a hint of B+.  Flackwell Heath, however, is not in the same league.  Again there are two or three goodish holes (though not in Hankley's league) and some very unmemorable ones.  C for me, at best, while Filton is an unknown quantity to me.
