Good points Mark. While some of your examples are 'old dead guys', I believe Eddie Hackett is still with us. I would love to get over to Ireland and see his work first hand. At least some of his work is detailed in the book, "Links of Heaven" by Phinney and Whitley. Is Eddie Hackett the architects version of Moe Norman the player? Maybe that is a stretch for an analogy, but I hope we do more like your effort to discover Limburger the archie, not the cheese.
Here on our side, while we have given noteriety and comments to STrantz , DeVries, Whitman and such they are still our darlings of GCA. And Brauer and Richardson fall into that often spoken of GCA.com conversation, and they have also participated themselves, which we all appreciate.
But, not much on Bobbie Weed, even though he has written articles that most conventional wisdom proponents on GCA would agree with his thoughts. I only played one of his courses and did write about it here. It was a fine course worth discussing and want to see more by Weed.
Silva of Black CReek fame has had some discussion thrown his way, but perhaps not enought. There are plenty of regionally centered archies as well, that don't get too much ink. Ian Andrew, Paul Cowley and Mike Young's participation helps us to know them. But, are we seeking out their work to play and discuss, enough?
