British photos Help!
« on: August 29, 2004, 03:17:13 PM »
We had a flood yesterday - washing machine in bathroom leaked into my office underneath.  Managed to rescue slides - thousands of the things, but realise how vulnerable they are.  Have been meaning to share these on GCA for ages but never quite got round to it.  I've worked out how to get these on Mystic Color Lab but I haven't yet sussed how to get them from there onto meaningful posts.  Tried search but there's so much there now that it didn't come up with an answer I was looking for.

Don't waste Ran's space with answering here - please me with instructions that a 5 year-old can understand - actually, as it's a computer, PLEASE E-mail me with instructions a 55 year-old can understand.

Mark,

The answer will be more clear here, than in an email.
I think you are making 2 mistakes.

Here's how (I think you almost have it):

Here is a picture on my Mystic site:

If I right-button-click on the picture, I can select "Properties" from the menu.
One of the properties is "Address (URL)"

Select that. I think your first mistake is here. You won't see the complete URL.
What you need to select is longer than what you see.
You will see something like this:
http://images.mysticcolorlab.com/33%3B6%3A38323232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D8%3A%

If I use only this partial URL, then this is what will show on GCA:

You need to drag the mouse down a little, to select the hidden part of the address also. The whole address will be something a little bit longer, like this:
http://images.mysticcolorlab.com/33%3B6%3A38323232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D8%3A%3A%3D9%3A%3A%3DXROQDF%3E23234%3A2368%3B43ot1lsi

Place this whole address between the bracketed img /img code.I think your second mistake is here. I think you are using a url /url code. You should use a img /img code.If you use the url /url code, then this is what you will see on GCA:

http://images.mysticcolorlab.com/33%3B6%3A38323232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D8%3A%3A%3D9%3A%3A%3DXROQDF%3E23234%3A2368%3B43ot1lsi

Do it like this, but do not put a space between the Open Bracket "[" and the "img]"

 [ img] URL [/img]

Before you press post on GCA, this is what you will see (but remember to not have a space between the "[" and the "img]"):

[ img]http://images.mysticcolorlab.com/33%3B6%3A38323232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D8%3A%3A%3D9%3A%3A%3DXROQDF%3E23234%3A2368%3B43ot1lsi[/img]

Pity about the apostrophe, but we're getting there.  Bigger seems better.
